White House liberals in Hawaii push for mask warrants, but data is disappointing

Democratic White House leaders are considering or enacting new coronavirus mask mandates in line with new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – though new infections vary widely in different areas.

The new guideline recommends indoor masks in communities reporting at least 50 new cases per 100,000 people over a seven-day period. Data from Johns Hopkins University shows that there are such hot spots in the United States, but mostly in Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

But it was in Hawaii, Nevada and Washington, DC, which had indoor mask warrants in place for fully vaccinated people on Friday.

The CDC’s update marks a sharp turnaround from May, when the administration said fully vaccinated individuals could ditch the masks and resume life as normal.

“It was true then,” Biden told Fox News’s Peter Doocy Thursday when he hit the seesaw. “Because I thought there were people who were going to understand that getting the shot made a dramatic difference. And what happened was the new variant came along, they didn’t get the shot, it spread faster and more people were getting sick. “

Meanwhile, the Republican governors. Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott, from Florida and Texas, respectively, have banned mask warrants.

“The way forward is based on personal responsibility rather than government mandates,” Abbott said in a statement.

Despite new CDC guidelines and the liberal rush to reinstate mask rules, critics across the country have also risen to protest.

WHERE TO FIND COVID VACCINES

“Joe Biden wants to force federal employees to get vaccinated,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz told the Senate on Friday. “Who the hell is the federal government telling people to stick a needle in their arm?”

Cruz added that he and his family had been vaccinated – but that it was of their own accord.

Some Democrats have resisted the demand for new mask terms, including Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, the latter of whom the latter has said will await further details from the CDC.

The CDC says those vaccinated can still spread the most contagious delta variant – and it now accounts for 83% of new cases in the United States.

Former Deputy Health Secretary Admiral Brett Giroir said he wanted to see more specific numbers behind the new CDC recommendations before accepting them.

“They said it was a rare opportunity,” he told Fox News’ Charles Payne on Wednesday. “If it’s rare, 1%, .1%, then you don’t need to hide, and you shouldn’t recommend it. If it’s 20 or 30%, then what they said should have meaning.”

However, he later warned that unvaccinated people were at great risk for the delta variant.

“Anyone who isn’t vaccinated and didn’t have COVID before, the delta variant is so contagious you’re going to have it,” he told America Reports Thursday.

In its latest available findings on the breakthrough cases, which cover January 1 to April 30, the CDC reported that 2% of patients had died and 10% had to be hospitalized. And 29% of hospitalizations were in asymptomatic patients or were “for a reason unrelated to COVID-19”.
