NAVI MUMBAI: Punjab Kings striker Liam Livingstone beat the big six of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on Tuesday.
With the ball traveling a mammoth distance of 117m off Livingstone’s bat, he left everyone in awe, including Gujarat Titans bowler Mohammed Shami and Punjab skipper Mayank Agarwal.
Indian veteran Shami came on for the 16th to try to keep Gujarat in the game, but Livingstone had other plans. On the first delivery of the plus, he crushed Shami for the longest six of the season.

Shami threw a short delivery that pitched over a stump, which Livingstone tipped hard on and the ball was dropped into the upper tier of Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy.
Such was the monstrousness of that six that even Shami was stunned, as he was seen smiling as the ball was sent flying. In the Punjab dugout, Livinsgtone’s teammate and skipper, Mayank Agarwal, jumped out of his seat and was stunned.
The big hit was followed by two more sixes and two fours as Punjab won by eight wickets. A total of 28 runs were made by Shami as Livingstone finished the match with four overs to spare.

“I’ve seen Chris Gayle do this many times, but it was something different,” Punjab head coach Anil Kumble said after the match.
With this win, Punjab moved up to fifth place in the points table.
After winning the coin toss, Gujarat became the first team to choose to bat in a night game, after which the Punjab Kings limited them to 143/8 thanks to Kagiso Rabada’s four-wicket carry.

Shikhar Dhawan (62) led the Punjab chase with his 47th IPL fifty, and in the end Livingstone scored 30* from 10 balls to end the game.
