US FDA allows Covid vaccines for children as young as 6 months old

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Friday authorized two COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as 6 months old, opening the door to vaccinating millions of America’s youngest children.
The agency licensed Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine for children ages 6 months to 4 years and Moderna Inc’s vaccine for those ages 6 months to 17 years.
The shots could be rolled out for under-5s as early as next week, White House officials said.
But the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention must first make their recommendation on the use of injections. A CDC The advisory committee is due to meet on Friday and Saturday.
