British neoconservative author Douglas Murray joined Tucker Carlson for the inaugural episode of “Tucker Carlson Today,” which premiered Monday on Fox Nation.
The theme of the first episode is “Oppression and the Passport to Elite Success”. During the program, Murray explained how, in recent times, American culture has reversed the qualities that make someone a leader or a figure to be respected.

“Many of us grew up in societies where we admired courageous or heroic people who strove to show people how to be courageous in their lives,” he said. “Now if you want to be a leader you have to show that you are an oppressed minority; you have to show suffering, you have to show subjugation, that everything has been done against you.
“People are not supposed to admire the heroism but to admire the suffering – we have created the Olympics of suffering, where very privileged people wish. [for] people not to recognize their privilege, but to recognize them as being oppressed: this is only the passport of this time to the success of the elite. “
In turn, Murray suggested that people who understand the true qualities of leadership and productive culture might “point out that this is nonsense.”
“[Say] I don’t recognize your right to claim victim status, you claim not to be a victim. “
One way, he said, would be for an individual criticized for being privileged to in turn signal that he or she is somehow part of another “oppressed group.”

“The point is to show that you are the most oppressed person to win, and you can tell everyone what to do,” he said, calling the new revival culture a “die-hard game.”
“Either you speak the truth as you see it, or you despise yourself.
“Who is judging here exactly? You have to differentiate between people who are critical and an enemy: a real critic wants you to improve, an enemy wants you to go. And you in America seem to have lost the ability to. tell the difference between those two things, ”said the Hammersmith, UK native.
