A fire broke out on Wednesday following an explosion inside a shipping container anchored in the port of Jebel Ali in Dubai.
The Dubai Media Office said the blaze was under control and the port authorities “will take all necessary measures to ensure the normal movement of ships in the port.”
The media office posted videos on Twitter showing firefighters working to put out the flames, but no information has yet been released on the cause of the explosion.

Authorities said there were no injuries or casualties and said members of the civil defense worked “effectively [and] controlled the last stage of a fire that started in a container on a ship about to dock. “
The media office has released several videos showing firefighters dosing flames around giant shipping containers.
Witnesses told Reuters they heard the explosion on Wednesday evening, then saw emergency vehicles and fire trucks rushing to the scene.

It is not known to what extent other cargo containers were affected or destroyed in the explosion and fire.
Jebel Ali Port is the largest cargo port in the Middle East and is located in one of the world’s major cities for tourism, business, and commerce.
