Sonu Nigam REACTS to ongoing dispute over national language of Ajay Devgn and Sudeep | Hindi Movie News

Sonu Nigam has recently joined the bandwagon of celebrities who have spoken out on the ongoing row over Ajay Devgn and Sudeep’s national language.

Weighing in on the ongoing debate, Sonu told an event that nowhere in the constitution does it say that Hindi is our national language. It may be the most spoken language, but not the national language. In fact, Tamil is the oldest language. There is a debate between Sanskrit and Tamil. But, people say that Tamil is the oldest language all over the world.

The ace singer pointed out that there are enough problems to be solved with other nations and there is no point in initiating a new problem in the country.

Ajay Devgn had tweeted in Hindi and asked that if Hindi is not our national language why is Kiccha Sudeep releasing his Hindi dubbed movies. In response to the same, Sudeep replied that his lyrics were misinterpreted. He wrote: “And sir, I understood the text you sent in Hindi. It is only because we all respected, loved and learned Hindi. No offense, but I was wondering what the situation would be if my answer was typed in Kannada!! Don’t we belong to India too, sir.

The Kannada superstar’s first comments had been made in reaction to a string of South Indian films outperforming Hindi films at the box office, recent examples being ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’.
