Ranbir Kapoor’s rugged looking poster of ‘Shamshera’ has been leaked online and is going viral on social media right now. The high-octane, adrenaline-pumping entertainer is set in the 1800s in the heart of India with Ranbir trying out for the titular character. Sanjay Dutt plays Ranbir’s nemesis in this massive casting stunt and his confrontation with Ranbir will be something to watch as they fiercely pursue each other without mercy. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor in the female lead role.

The epic period movie poster was reportedly leaked after a fan activation event. The directors were due to kick off the cinematic campaign next week. All the plans of the film’s marketing team now seem to be dashed by the leak. Fans of the star however went into a frenzy when the poster surfaced online, they just can’t help but rave about Ranbir Kapoor’s rugged avatar.

Contacted by IANS, a spokesperson confirmed: “Yes, we have been monitoring this since morning. There was a leak and it is quite unfortunate. Ranbir is coming back to the big screen after 4 years and we wanted to keep the look of Ranbir until people see the trailer because we knew that would be the biggest talking point now we will have to revise our whole plan before the trailer launches we should have more updates day to share in the next two days.

The story of “Shamshera” is set in the fictional city of Kaza, where a tribe of warriors are imprisoned, enslaved, and tortured by a ruthless overbearing general Shudh Singh. It is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a chief and then a legend for his tribe. He fights tirelessly for the freedom and dignity of his tribe. Her name is ‘Shamshera’. Directed by Karan Malhotra, this action show was produced by Aditya Chopra and is set to be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on July 22.
