Senator Lindsey Graham tests positive for COVID-19, despite having been vaccinated

Senator Lindsey Graham, RS.C., announced on Monday that although he had been vaccinated against COVID-19, he had tested positive for the virus.

In a statement, Graham said his test results had been confirmed by the House doctor.

“I started having flu-like symptoms on Saturday night and went to the doctor this morning. I feel like I have a sinus infection and right now I have mild symptoms. in quarantine for ten days.

“I am very happy to have been vaccinated because without vaccination, I am sure that I would not feel as well as today”, he continued. “My symptoms would be much worse.”

Graham was aboard Democratic Senator Joe Manchin’s houseboat with a group of lawmakers before the COVID test positive.

Manchin’s office told Fox News that “Senator Manchin is fully vaccinated and follows CDC guidelines for people exposed to an individual positive for COVID.”

Health officials have previously said that vaccinated people who contract so-called “breakthrough” infections are unlikely to spread the virus. But with the more contagious delta variant now dominant, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said new data shows that those infected could carry enough virus in their nose and throat to transmit it to d ‘others.

Health experts still claim that vaccines offer strong protection against serious illnesses. In the United States, people who have not been vaccinated account for almost all hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19.
