During the trailer launch, the star addressed the big reveal of his first-ever dual role as a father and shared that it took a bit of convincing to land both roles. “When the movie was told to me, it wasn’t really offered to me as a dual role. But when I heard the story, my immediate response to Aditya Chopra and Karan Malhotra was to let me play too father,” he said. .
The actor went on to explain, “It’s such a great role, it’s such an interesting and juicy role for an actor to play. Then I really had to convince Adi and Karan. I think after that , Karan did some test looks and that’s when he was also convinced.”
Speaking about taking on a dual role for the first time in his career, the actor admitted he found it “very challenging” but also “exciting”.
“It wasn’t initially offered to me, but it absolutely hooked me as an actor. They were two unique characters and for an actor like me to play two separate characters and make them different was very difficult and very exciting for me,” Kapoor said.
