PM Modi sends well wishes to Indian contingent at 24th Deaflympics in Brazil | More sports news


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent his best wishes to the Indian contingent at the 24th Deaflympics in Brazil, which kicks off on Sunday.
India’s largest player contingent of 65 Deaflympians from 11 sports are in Brazil for the event.
Prime Minister Modi also said he was touched by the recent visit to the National War Memorial in Delhi by a group of 40 Deaflympians.
“India cheers on our contingent at the #Deaflympics2021 which starts today. Best wishes to all our talented athletes. I was truly touched by their gesture of visiting the National War Memorial before going to the games,” said tweeted Modi.

Recently, a team of 40 Deaflympians from various sports disciplines visited the National War Memorial to pay their respects to the martyrs and be inspired by a glorious war story scripted by brave soldiers of the armed forces, before departing for Brazil to the upcoming 24th Summer Deaflympics.
