Pep Guardiola says he plans to leave Manchester City in 2023 as Harry Kane says he stays at Spurs



The prospect of Kane moving to City came to an abrupt end on Wednesday as the England captain announced on Twitter that he would remain at the club where he has spent most of his career.

Kane – whose contract at Spurs runs until 2024 – had previously said he would like to leave this summer and believed he had an agreement with President Daniel Levy to make it happen.

However, Levy refused to budge on the asking price of $ 200 million. Having already signed Jack Grealish for £ 100million, Manchester City seemed unwilling to shell out that sum.

Meanwhile, Guardiola has said he plans to leave the club when his current contract expires in 2023.

The Spaniard, who joined the club in 2016, believes he will need a rest after seven years at the helm.

“After seven years on this team, I think I’m going to stop,” said Guardiola, which culminated at an online event hosted by Brazilian financial services firm XP Investimentos, and quoted by ESPN Brasil.

“I’m going to take a break, see what we’ve done. And in the process, I would like to form a national, South American, European team… Play a Copa America – I want to have that experience.”

The 50-year-old won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups during his time in Manchester.

Guardiola took a year-long hiatus after leaving Barcelona in 2012 after four trophy-filled years at Camp Nou before joining Bayern Munich in 2013.
