Governor of California under siege Gavin Newsom seems to have made an about-face as to whether he will “regret” the political decisions he has taken if he is recalled from his post.

Newsom was adamant in an interview with the Sacramento Bee earlier this month that he would not regret a thing even if he was recalled.

“If they kick me out. I’m going to feel good for what we just did and will never regret a thing,” Newsom told the Bee. “We put everything out there on this education budget.”

Fast forward not even a month later with the recall election around the corner and Newsom doesn’t seem to be so confident in his decisions.

In an interview with the Atlantic Released on Friday, Newsom was more aware of unfavorable polls, saying he would “own” any election defeat that comes to him next month.

“If I am not successful, I will regret each of these decisions,” Newsom said of recent government initiatives launched under him. “And I don’t want to regret putting it all out there and doing… what I think is right and what I think is in California’s best interests.”

Newsom’s campaign did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment on the apparent flip-flop.
