New Jersey’s Ninth District GOP congressional candidate Billy Prempeh takes a patriotic approach to his campaign, emphasizing the value of red, white and blue.
Prempeh joined “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday to describe the motives for his campaign, saying being in the military has taught him the true symbolism of the American flag.
“When I decided to join the army and fight for the country, I understood that this flag meant more than red, white and blue on a piece of cloth,” he said. . “It actually symbolizes the unification of our nation and the many things our country has been through so far.”
“The one thing that always stays constant with America is that we always find a way out, we always find a way to come together and persevere,” Prempeh explained. “And that is why so many countries are following our example and we have to be a beacon of hope for the rest of the world.”
Prempeh’s comments follow chapter founder Black Lives Matter Utah calling the US flag a “symbol of hate” in a fiery July 4 post on Facebook, with co-host Pete Hegseth noting that Prempeh sees it “quite differently “.

Prempeh later mentioned the drive to impose critical race theory on the US military, saying our defense should be primarily focused on defending our Constitution and “protecting our allies across the world.”
While active in the Air Force, Prempeh said his race was never a determining factor in his unit’s worth and that the only colors that mattered were the colors of the flag and the green of their uniform.

“When you’re in a training camp, even everyone’s down, everyone’s making their way to the top,” he said. “These colors unite us all. We’re all green at the end of the day and we’re all red, white, and blue. We’re all Americans.”
