NEW DELHI: BJP Chairman JP Nadda said on Monday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was personally monitoring the last-mile delivery of social welfare programs and development works, which have been key to the success of the current government over the past eight years.
Nadda held a press conference, along with Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani and Anurag Thakur, to highlight the achievements of the Modi government which has completed its eight years in office. He said the Prime Minister had changed the country’s political culture and ushered in a responsive and proactive government. “Seva, sushasan and garib kalyan (service, good governance and welfare of the poor) are the soul of the Modi government,” the BJP chairman said.
Nadda has also launched a special campaign, titled “8 Years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan”, to reach youth and citizens through the NaMo app. “The platform has a collection of videos, graphics and articles that detail the work done by the Modi government over eight years,” he said.
The BJP Chairman said that after years of political paralysis, Prime Minister Modi has established a proactive and responsive government, which has been keen to serve the last man in line.
He added that the IMF recently certified that only 10% of people in India are now in the BPL category (below the poverty line), 12% less than before, which says a lot about the success of the Modi government. . Nadda said the stories of transformations testify to the progress the country has seen over the past eight years.
He said the northeast was previously seen as a backward region but the Modi government has also done the job of bringing it into the mainstream.
