Moses Ingram on Reva’s role in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’: I didn’t even know I was auditioning for ‘Star Wars’

Ten years after the events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith”, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will return to the screens to face off in “Obi-Wan Kenobi”. Joining them with a lightsaber in tow will be Emmy-nominated actress Moses Ingram, who will play the exceptionally skilled warrior, Reva aka, ‘Third Sister’ Inquisitor.

In the Disney+ Hotstar show directed by Deborah Chow, Moses will be seen entering the dark side and pledging allegiance to Darth Vader. In an effort to fulfill her lord’s command, she sets out on the hunt to capture Kenobi and all the last surviving Jedi.

ETimes put Moses in the hot seat and had him talk about joining the “Star Wars” galaxy, choosing between Team Ewan or Team Hayden, his role in the franchise’s future, and here’s everything she had to say…

How big of a “Star Wars” fan were you before you got the call? Let us know where you were and what your reaction was when you found out you had landed the role.

I feel really lucky that this is my first real introduction to Star Wars, only now because it has been attached to so many memories and moments that I otherwise wouldn’t have had until now. So that’s really cool. Part of the casting was a very fast and intense week of auditioning. For the first few days, I didn’t even know I was auditioning for Star Wars. I just remember thinking, ‘Whatever is fine…’

Then I discovered it was “Star Wars”, and I was enthused by the feeling of nervousness and danger.

Have you ever imagined yourself in a “Star Wars” franchise? Would you like to be a Jedi or someone from the dark side?

It’s so much better than anything I could have imagined for myself. But, I like being on the dark side. It’s funny.

Onscreen, you pledge allegiance to Darth Vader, but offscreen, are you Team Ewan or Team Hayden? What was it like working with them?

Well, it was really wonderful to work with both of them. They are very kind human beings. And we wouldn’t be here today if they hadn’t done what they did all those years ago. I think because of that, I’m the team of two, the team right in the middle (of Ewan and Hayden).

Would you say it was easier or harder to bring up this topic given that there was no role model, since this is the first time we’ve seen Reva on screen?

I think it made it easier for me because there was less to hold onto and up to what anyone had seen before. So I think that made my job a lot easier.

There’s already a lot of buzz around your character shining as the next big bad in the Star Wars franchise, can you confirm if we’ll see you more in the future?

Disney was really good at calling this a limited series event, so the only thing we know we’re getting right now is this 6 part series and I’m happy with that. I’m happy with this 6 part and I think it’s cool.
