Prince Harry and Meghan Markle privately welcomed their daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on Friday.
After spending two days with their new bundle of joy, the royal couple shared the news of Meghan’s delivery in a statement they provided to their Archewell charity on Sunday, June 6.
“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could ever have imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we have felt across the world. “, the message from The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reads. “Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”

Lili was born at 11:40 a.m. on Friday at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, according to the Archewell website. She weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces at birth and is said to be “healthy” and “moving home” with her mother.
Her first name was reportedly chosen to honor the great-grandmother of 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II, who bears the same nickname.
The name Lilibet is the Hebrew version of the name Elizabeth, and it means “God’s promise,” according to The Bump’s dictionary of names.

Meanwhile, Lili’s middle name, Diana, is meant to honor Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997. The name Diana has Latin roots dating back to ancient Rome and means “divine,” according to The Bump.
Lili is the second great-grandchild to bear the name of the Queen and the Princess. Her older cousin, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, 6, was born on May 2, 2015.

The royal family shared their wishes for Harry and Meghan in a statement which was shared on Instagram and Twitter.
“Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of Lilibet Diana! The Queen, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news,” the statement said. “Lilibet is Her Majesty’s eleventh great-grandchild.”

Lili is the second child Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, have welcomed.
The couple’s firstborn, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born on May 6, 2019 and is now 2 years old.
