NEW DELHI: Tripura BJP Chairman Manik Saha was sworn in as the state’s 12th new chief minister on Sunday.
Manik Saha replaced Biplab Kumar Deb as Chief Minister of the North Eastern State.
Saha was appointed leader of the BJP legislative party on Saturday after Deb resigned as chief minister just a year before national elections.

Saha, who left Congress and joined the BJP in 2016, was named party chairman in 2020.
He replaced Biplab Kumar Deb who led the Saffron Party to a resounding victory in 2018, ending a 25-year-old communist regime.
He is also president of the Tripura Cricket Association. Before joining mainstream politics, Saha taught at Tripura Medical College located in Hapania.
