Kenyan police said a man who confessed to killing a dozen children and escaped detention this week was killed by a mob.
Deputy County Commissioner Cornelius Nyaribai confirmed the murder of Masten Wanjala on Thursday. The murder near his home in Bungoma County came a day after he escaped police cells in Nairobi.

Police authorities said Wanjala was identified after joining a football match and playing with locals. Some then followed him and beat him to death.
