James is launching the “Mission First, People Always” political action committee on Wednesday to support candidates who, he said, “will lead through today’s challenges with boldness and courage. balances that allow Americans to live freer and happier lives while ensuring our nation is powerful, prosperous and peaceful. “

“Combat leaders do not have a choice to complete the mission or to bring their soldiers back to base; they are supposed to do both. Business leaders do not have the option of choosing whether they satisfy the client or pay the payroll; they are expected to do both. Unfortunately, too few of our political leaders think that way, “James said in a statement.
James, who is chairman of the new PAC, said he “will support candidates who bring that kind of balanced and real global leadership to the US government.” James said the concept of the PAC was inspired by the training he received at the US Military Academy at West Point and the Army Ranger School.
James was the 2018 GOP Senate candidate in Michigan, losing seven and a half points to Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow. Last year, James came within a point and a half of ousting Democratic Senator Gary Peters from Congress.

James’ story and story, along with his fundraising prowess, made him one of the GOP’s most compelling Senate challengers during the 2020 cycle.
Discussing his PAC, James said the political contenders he will support “must be bold, stand by our principles and act. I look forward to supporting the candidates who will move forward in all corners of America with a spirit of service and sacrifice. “

James is not the first 2020 GOP Senate candidate to launch a PAC to help fellow Republicans.
Former Colorado Senator Cory Gardner, who lost his reelection bid last November, announced in February he would chair the National Victory Action Fund, a super PAC that aims to drive fundraising directly to candidates. Republicans running in the 2022 midterm election as the party tries to win back majorities in both houses of Congress.
