Duggar married Vuolo, 33, in 2016. The couple moved to Laredo, Texas, where he worked in the ministry. During his free time at home, Duggar began to “dig” the Bible.

“Since Jeremy and I started studying the scriptures together, I have become more aware of the different beliefs and doctrines of Christians,” she explained. “I realized that not everyone interpreted the different passages of Scripture the way I always have, and I wanted to know why.”

According to the outlet, Duggar shared her thoughts with Vuolo when she was not listening to the sermons.

“Growing up, I had a set of standards that I took for granted,” she wrote, adding that “my beliefs were changing”. Duggar said his studies made him realize “that biblical modesty runs deeper and deeper than wearing skirts instead of pants.”

“Modesty isn’t just about what you wear,” she wrote. “This is the position of your heart.”

Duggar and Vuolo have spoken out after Josh was taken into custody last week.
