Jason Sudeikis is one of many celebrities who use a name other than the nickname they were born with.
The “Ted Lasso” star, 46, has been known – and credited – as Jason for many years now in film and television appearances.
However, on Monday’s episode of “Today”, the actor revealed that his birth name was Daniel Jason Sudeikis while playing a game of “True or False?” with the third hour hosts Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones and Jill Martin.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum has confirmed that his “first name” is Daniel.

“I was Daniel Jason,” he shared. It is [my father] Daniel Joseph and my mom decided to call me Jason, so we know who she was yelling at. “

Sudeikis is not the only actor in his family, as “Cheers” star George Wendt is his uncle.
“He’s my mother’s younger brother,” he explained.
The love of awards seems to run in the family as well, as Sudeikis recently won two Emmys for his work on “Ted Lasso” and was nominated for two more, while Wendt, 73, was nominated for six Emmys for having played Norm Peterson in the iconic sitcom. .
Martin also asked Sudeikis for information on the upcoming third season of Apple TV +’s “Ted Lasso”, which just wrapped up its second season on October 8.

The comedian has remained silent on the show – as well as its end.

Additionally, the actor said he felt “a lot” of pressure at the start of season three after the overwhelmingly positive response in the first two rounds of the series.

Sudeikis wasn’t the only one to win an Emmy for the series. Actors Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein also won awards for their performances. Additionally, the show’s casting, picture editing and sound mixing also won trophies.

Best Comedy Series was also nominated for an additional 13 Emmys, including performances by actors Jeremy Swift, Nick Mohammed, Brendan Hunt and Juno Temple.
