Gujarat Titans (GT) led by Hardik Pandya put on a brilliant performance throughout Indian Premier League 2022. As it happened, GT became the first team since Rajasthan Royals (RR) to lift the trophy during their very first season in the league. Alongside Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), GT was one of two teams to enter the tournament ahead of the 2022 season. In the 2022 IPL final match against RR, the Titans won by seven wickets in their first season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pandya produced a brilliant all-around performance as he netted three wickets and also scored 34 runs. Chasing 131 for the win, Gujarat depended on a 63-point partnership between Shubman Gill and Pandya. Gill and David Miller further ensured that the newbies crossed the finish line at the end. The winning team’s final score was 133-3 in 18.1 overs. Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah presented the prestigious IPL trophy to Pandya as GT celebrate the historic win. (All photos: Instagram)
