IPL 2022, RCB vs GT: Matthew Wade reprimanded for breach of code of conduct | Cricket News

MUMBAI: Gujarat Titans striker Matthew Wade has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during their game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
“Mr Wade has admitted the Tier 1 breach under Section 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct and has accepted the sanction,” the IPL said in a statement.
“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final and binding,” he added.
Although the statement gave no reason for the violation, Wade was livid after being judged LBW, in what was a controversial appeal and drew empathy from Virat Kohli.
Wade was sure he had underestimated a sweeping shot from Glenn Maxwell and didn’t take time to review the on-court decision, which was overturned.
However, despite a clear deviation in the ball’s path before it hit the pads, the UltraEdge failed to detect it and the TV referee stayed with the referee’s call on the field.
The Australian was angry as he returned to the dugout and displayed his anger in the dressing room as well.
