IPL 2022: Jos Buttler equals Virat Kohli’s incredible record | Cricket News



AHMEDABAD: Rajasthan Royals opening hitter Jos Buttler on Friday equaled Royal Challengers Bangalore Virat Kohli’s batting record for scoring the most centuries in a T20 league.
Buttler achieved the feat in the IPL 2022 Qualifier Match 2 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, here at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday, where he smashed his fourth tonne of the season.
Earlier, Kohli held the record with four centuries to his name in 2016. In the same year, he scored 973 points which is the highest of any player in IPL history.
Speaking of Buttler, the Englishman has beaten a whopping 824 carries, at an average of 58.86, and a strike rate of 151.47 in IPL 2022, so far. He also inscribed four half-centuries to his name.
Coming to the game, big shots from Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, followed by a cameo from Sanju Samson helped RR pursue the goal of 158 carries in just 18.1 overs. Earlier, Prasidh Krishna and Obed McCoy scalped three wickets each to limit RCB at 157/8.
