“I had fun. (Andre) Russell hits short, and I was looking for the draw if he played short. Varun is playing well. I didn’t expect him to break… So I thought about put him under pressure,” Tripathi said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

“It’s been special with KKR and with the SunRisers, the first few games went well. I had some health issues last week, but they (the franchise) supported me,” Tripathi said.
After not being retained by KKR, Tripathi was chosen for Rs 8.50 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad; and with that kind of performance, he really showed his worth as a No. 3 hitter.
“I like it a lot. There are tough days but on good days I look for fun…I’m happy I got to play this round today,” he said Tripathi.
Tripathi picked up the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his killshot to guide SRH to their third victory of the season.
