IPL 2022: I had fun, says SRH’s Rahul Tripathi on winning shot against KKR | Cricket News

MUMBAI: Rahul Tripathi’s outstanding performance of 71 carries from 37 balls paved the way for a comprehensive seven-wicket victory for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) game here at Brabourne Stadium on Friday.
In her winning performance, Tripathi timed her innings to perfection and picked her bowlers to attack, taking Aman Hakim Khan and Varun Chakravarthy to the cleaners.
“I had fun. (Andre) Russell hits short, and I was looking for the draw if he played short. Varun is playing well. I didn’t expect him to break… So I thought about put him under pressure,” Tripathi said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Tripathi previously represented the Kolkata Knight Riders and played winners for them as well, and now he was against them leading Hyderabad to victory in 17.5 overs, while chasing a target of 176 runs.
“It’s been special with KKR and with the SunRisers, the first few games went well. I had some health issues last week, but they (the franchise) supported me,” Tripathi said.
After not being retained by KKR, Tripathi was chosen for Rs 8.50 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad; and with that kind of performance, he really showed his worth as a No. 3 hitter.

“I like it a lot. There are tough days but on good days I look for fun…I’m happy I got to play this round today,” he said Tripathi.
Tripathi picked up the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his killshot to guide SRH to their third victory of the season.
