“If Shah Rukh Khan wants to be in ‘Ms Marvel’, we’ll come back to reshoot,” say writer Sana Amanat and directors Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi



King Khan has millions of deadly fans and a handful of super-powered ones as well. One of those specials features Marvel’s newest superhero, Ms. Marvel.

Actress Iman Vellani portrays Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager growing up in Jersey City. When she’s not stepping in to save the day in her neighborhood, this dark-haired, Muslim character talks about superheroes and has Bollywood at heart, especially King Shah Rukh Khan.

ETimes reached out to producer and screenwriter Sana Amanat and directors Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi (who helmed episodes 1 and 2) for a quick video chat where we talked about all things SRK.

Just last week, fans of the superstar went into high gear online when it was revealed that Shah Rukh’s name and his popular films like ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ were getting a boost. special mention on the Marvel show. When asked if fans should keep their eyes peeled for an SRK cameo, Sana couldn’t hold back her excitement and said, “If Shah Rukh Khan wants to be on this show, we’ll come back to film! We’ll come back at production, we are (definitely) resuming production! Call someone!”

Adil went a step ahead and even suggested an alternate action movie universe for King Khan. “We would like to do a Bad Boys 3 remake with Shah Rukh Khan,” he said, to which Sana suggested, “That will be the perfect pitch.”

“He’s one of the biggest stars in the world, a legend,” added Billal.

As the three suited the Bollywood vibe, we asked how Shah Rukh Khan, a Hindi film actor, became a prominent feature in this superhero story.

Sana, who wrote Kamala’s story in the comics and even her on-screen debut, gave us the inside scoop. The writer and producer said: “SRK, actually, comes from the comics. We have mentions of Shah Rukh Khan in the comics because it was related to Kamala’s connectivity with Bollywood and we love him all. merely.”

Although of Pakistani and Moroccan-Belgian descent, the three were united by their love for SRK. When asked what the actor meant to them and other South Asian kids growing up overseas, Sana said, “As a Pakistani kid in Jersey, I loved Bollywood actors. growing up. So having that integrated into Kamala’s world makes it more global and real. It’s really awesome and we’re really excited about it.”

“Shah Rukh, if you want to work with us, we’re up for it,” Sana added.

In case this piece managed to catch Shah Rukh’s attention, Bilall and Adil made sure to leave their fan mail behind, saying, “Yeah! We’re here man… We’re big fans!”

‘Mrs. Marvel’, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on June 8. The series that tells the story of Kamala Khan’s superhero origins and will pave the way for her big-screen debut in Brie Larson’s ‘Captain Marvel’ sequel, ‘The Marvels’.

The series also stars Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha and will also feature Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar in an important role.
