NEW DELHI: Indian Premier League winner Captain Hardik Pandya has rightfully been named India’s skipper for the two-game T20 international series against Ireland in Dublin on June 26-28.
The only new face in the squad is Maharashtra right batsman Rahul Tripathi who was rewarded for his excellent batting in this edition of the IPL where he scored over 400 points for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Pandya, who is assistant to Rishabh Pant in the current T20I series against South Africa, has been elevated to the leadership role and will join the England Test squad after the home series ends.

Sanju Samson, whose debauchery has been well documented over the years, gets another shot at redemption, as he makes a comeback for the series, having guided the Rajasthan Royals to the IPL final.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was named vice-captain of the series.
The designated wicket-keeper will be Dinesh Karthik, 36, if the team list is any indication, while Ishan Kishan and Samson can keep wickets if needed.
Samson’s outfit isn’t considered up to par, so he could well be the third keeper in the mix.
Indian team T20I: Hardik Pandya (Captain), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Vice-Captain), Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik (Wicket Keeper), Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.
