MUMBAI: His voice beaming with happiness, talented Maharashtra striker Rahul Tripathi has qualified as his first call-up in India as a result of his enormous hard work over the years.
The 31-year-old right-handed hitter, Tripathi, has been one of the most consistent uncapped IPL players over six seasons, with the 2022 edition being his best as he totaled 413 runs at a 158.24 strike rate for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Tripathi, the son of an army man, has performed regularly in the IPL and also for his national team, Maharashtra.

“It’s a very big opportunity, a dream come true (moment) and (I) appreciate it,” Tripathi told PTI.
“I am very happy that the coaches and everyone believed in me and whatever hard work I put in, I got the rewards. And I hope that if I have the opportunity to play , I’ll try to do my best,” added Tripathi, who has the distinction of twice hitting six-sixes in an over in local tournaments.
Tripathi, who played for prestigious club Deccan Gymkhana, one of the oldest in Pune, has 2,540 first-class runs in 47 matches. He was also captain of Maharashtra in national cricket.
