Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, a retired Air Force officer, said it broke his heart to see America’s 20 years of fighting in Afghanistan crumble amid the withdrawal.
“No, I’m sorry, the US president and the defense secretary set the conditions,” Pfluger said. “But it seems the complete opposite of that… it’s heartbreaking after 20 years in Afghanistan to see the blood, sweat and tears that were spent there now evaporate in this debacle.”
