Many Republican Lawmakers have blasted the Secret Service detail of first son Hunter Biden after it was revealed he was paying $30,000 a month in rent for a mansion.

ABC News reported Monday that the Secret Service detail protecting the president’s son had been paying five-figure rent for the Malibu mansion near the $20,000-a-month mansion where Biden resided for more than a year.

The Secret Service often rents properties near their proteges as part of security operations, so the arrangement is not unprecedented, but the high cost required to protect Hunter Biden still left many Republicans stunned. .

“The Secret Service would pay $30,000 a month to rent a mansion in Malibu to surveil Hunter Biden,” Issa tweeted. “It looks like the cost of protecting Hunter is being shared by Big Tech, the mainstream media…and now the taxpayers too.”

The property was selected by the Secret Service for its location near the Malibu mansion Biden has been living in for more than a year, according to ABC News.

The revelation comes amid a tax probe into the president’s son that continues to escalate.
