Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul box eight rounds in pay-per-view bout

“I had fun … He is better than I thought”, Mayweather mentionned after Sunday’s fight, claiming Paul knew how to use his weight to his advantage. “He’s a tough and tough competitor … I was surprised by him tonight.”

The pay-per-view event, which aired on Showtime Sunday from Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, was deemed a draw.

The highly anticipated sporting event was not without technical difficulties. Some people said they were struggling to broadcast the high-profile fight.

“We are aware that some customers had difficulty accessing tonight’s Pay Per View event on SHOWTIME.com,” a Showtime spokesperson told CNN in an emailed statement Sunday night during the event. “We are working diligently to resolve the issue and will repair customers as appropriate.”

It wasn’t Paul’s first time in the ring. He fought vlogger and rapper Olajide “KSI” Olatunji twice, with the first fight ending in a draw and a second with KSI winning.

Mayweather, who has been undefeated in his career with a 50-0 record, is considered one of boxing’s greats.

He retired in 2017 after defeating Conor McGregor, a fight that Forbes says generated more than $ 550 million in revenue. Mayweather earned $ 275 million, a sum generated from both his roles as a fighter and a promoter.
Mayweather told CNN en Español’s Raul Saenz last year that he was “100% sure” he would not fight boxers again. He announced in 2019 that he “would come out of retirement in 2020”.
