The Democratic National Committee reportedly raked in more than $14 million last month despite declining polls ahead of November’s midterms.

Sources close to the fundraiser told NBC News the $14 million figure was nearly double the DNC’s February goal and was split roughly 50-50 between major donors and local donors. .

The news, if confirmed in the DNC’s public filing due next week, comes on the day President Biden is scheduled to attend his first in-person Democratic fundraising event since taking over the White House.

Biden’s declining polls add to the headwinds Democrats face in a midterm election year that has historically been against the ruling party.

A Wall Street Journal poll indicated that non-white voters were hit the hardest by inflation. Many respondents blamed President Biden’s green initiatives for causing inflation and said they believed Republican candidates were better equipped to fix the economy.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her fellow Democrats to unite ahead of the November midterms and move past the infighting between the centrists and the party’s progressive wing.
