Deepika Padukone’s hand-embroidered collar at the Cannes closing ceremony was made of 1,200 pearls and 200 crystals: Reports | Hindi Movie News

Deepika Padukone made a style statement with her designer ivory saree at the closing ceremony of the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

The off-white saree featured a dramatically pleated trail and ruffles. She completed her heavenly outfit with a hand-embroidered bustier made of pearls and crystals and earrings. The statement necklace would have featured around 1200 pearls and 200 crystals.

In an interview at Cannes, Deepika commented on her duties as critic and jury. She said: “I think we’re all aware that it’s a huge responsibility. But I think we also promised ourselves yesterday that we’re not going to burden ourselves with that responsibility. I think the idea is to remind us of that audience, or that young kid who grew up watching movies and was inspired.”

On the work side, the actress is part of “Pathaan” by Siddharth Anand with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham and “Fighter” with Hrithik Roshan. Apart from that, she is also part of Nag Ashwin’s upcoming untitled along with Prabhas.

Deepika will also reunite with her “Piku” co-star Amitabh Bachchan in the official Hindi remake of “The Intern.”
