Britney Spears’ new attorney filed a petition Monday to dismiss the singer’s father as his estate registrar.

According to court documents obtained by Fox News, Spears’ attorney, Mathew Rosengart, told the court that Jamie Spears had deprived Britney of her “dignity, of her autonomy., and certain fundamental freedoms. “

“For more than thirteen years, petitioner Britney Jean Spears … has endured a guardianship which, as far as James P. Spears is concerned … has become increasingly toxic and is simply no longer tenable,” the petition states.

The petition seeks to replace his father with Jason Rubin, described in the file as an “objectively intelligent preference to appoint a highly qualified professional trustee in this circumstance.”

The petition included statements of support from the singer’s mother, Lynne Spears, and the person’s curator, Jodi Montgomery.

Her mother argued that since conservation was in place, Britney’s relationship with her father had reduced to fear and hatred of him because of his behavior. She said this behavior included constant threats, mistrust and her complete control over her daughter.

Lynne Spears also said Jamie Spears has full control over Britney’s money and health care decisions. She claimed Jamie hired a “sports enhancement” doctor who prescribed her daughter what she and others considered to be “inappropriate medication.”

That doctor encouraged Spears to enter a healthcare facility she didn’t want and threatened her with punishment if she didn’t stay for treatment, Lynne Spears said.

“It is clear to me that James P. Spears is unable to put my daughter’s interests ahead of his both professionally and personally, and that being and remaining a custodian of my daughter’s estate is not in the business. my daughter’s best interest, ”she said, according to the record.

Montgomery, who worked for nearly three years as the person’s case manager and temporary curator, said she noticed a dynamic that was not psychologically healthy for Spears’ mental state. Montgomery encouraged Jamie Spears to consider quitting and just being her dad, so they can work on having a healthy relationship, she said.

“I have had many ongoing conversations with the medical team, and we all agree that it would be better for Ms. Spears’ well-being and sanity if her father ceased to be her curator. “said Montgomery.

Rosengart also claimed that Jamie Spears paid himself $ 16,000 per month from the estate, in addition to $ 2,000 per month for office expenses. Rosengart said he also received 1.5% of gross revenue generated from performances and merchandise sales associated with his Las Vegas residence.

Jamie Spears cut from the residence was estimated at $ 2.1 million, according to the petition.

“While it is common for managers, agents and other professionals in the industry to receive a percentage of an artist’s earnings, Mr. Spears is not one of them,” the petition says. “He is conservative and, as a curator, his role is to be weighed down by guardianship rather than benefit from it.”

The petition adds that since receiving medical treatment “at the start of this guardianship” over 13 years ago, Britney is “clearly in a different place now”.

Rosengart also hinted at a possible lawsuit, saying the court could one day find Jamie Spears guilty of “misconduct or wrongdoing”.

Lawyers for Jamie Spears did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News.
