British mother says she killed pedophile neighbor for going after her son

A British woman who was convicted of fatally stabbing her neighbor after learning he was a pedophile has reportedly revealed her son was one of the sick man’s victims.

Single mother of five Sarah Sands, 38, killed Michael Pleasted, 77, in her east London apartment weeks after finding out he had abused young boys.

In 2015, she was convicted of manslaughter for loss of control and sentenced to three and a half years behind bars – but the “unduly lenient” prison sentence was increased to seven and a half years by a court of call.

During his trial, it emerged that Pleasted had 24 convictions for sex offenses dating back more than three decades.

“I did what any mother would do because he did that to my son Bradley, my little boy,” said Sands, who spent almost four years in the slammer before being released.

“I never dreamed that I would be able to. I have no pride in it but at least I know he can’t hurt anyone else. I’m not a bad person but I know I do. did a bad thing. I never denied that and I was punished, “she said.

“I would never kill again. I don’t consider myself a murderer, but I don’t regret what I did. I was a mother desperate to protect my children,” Sands continued.

She then recalled what led to the fatal attack.

“I remember taking a knife and going to Mick’s house. I wanted to persuade him to plead guilty so Bradley wouldn’t have to testify,” she said. Mick opened the door and smiled. He was pushy and blunt.

“He didn’t want to listen to me. He was cold. A different man than the one who had been my nice neighbor,” Sands said.

“I pushed him in front with the knife and he grabbed me. I lost control. I couldn’t let anyone else get hurt – someone had to protect people,” she said. , adding that his warnings about the neighbor to the police, housing services and authorities were in vain.

No one knew about Pleasted’s criminal past because he had changed his name and his crimes predated the sex offender registry, the outlet said.

“I had no idea who he really was. How could I? He had lied and changed his name so he could attack children,” Sands told The Sun.

In 2014, Pleased offered his then 12-year-old son a job at the store where he volunteered, said Sands, who thought it would be a good way for Bradley to make some money.

“Mick was a role model. I ate meals for him and we had a chat. I had no reason not to trust him. I thought Bradley was safe,” she told the outlet.

But Sands’ son quickly lost interest in his job – and weeks later, she learned that Pleasted had been charged with molesting two children.

“I knew the boys. I didn’t doubt a word of what they said. It was awful. They were 12, so young,” she said. “Bradley said nothing had happened to him but had to give a video statement to the police because he had worked with Mick.”

In November 2014, Bradley revealed he had been abused.

“I found him tearing his hair, rocking, shaking and crying. He kept saying, ‘I should have told you before – that might have kept him from dying. ‘having these younger boys,’ “Sands said. “He was attacked at the store and at his home. I felt sick and heartbroken.”

Bradley, now 19, told the outlet he was “too embarrassed to say anything at first.

“I didn’t want to be in trouble but I had nightmares that Mick would come after me,” he said.

“I begged them to arrest Mick again. He was back on the estate as if nothing had happened and because he had pleaded not guilty, his victims, including my son, would be forced to testify,” Sands said.

She then decided to take matters into her own hands.

“I drank two bottles of wine, went back to my old apartment and knelt on the floor holding a picture of the children screaming. I hadn’t been able to cry before – Bradley was still there,” she declared.

“The guilt I felt for not protecting him washed over me. That’s when I took the knife and went to Mick’s,” Sands added.

She stabbed Pleasted eight times with a 12-inch kitchen knife and told police, “Who is harboring an f-king pedophile in an estate?

In August 2018, Sands reunited with his family and is now writing a book, “Loss of Control”.
