Boulder, Colorado, police: active shooter at King Soopers supermarket



Boulder Police tweeted that there is an “Active Shooter at King Soopers on Table Mesa. AVOID THE ZONE.”

CNN affiliate KMGH’s helicopter recorded a shirtless man being taken to the supermarket. The man had what appears to be blood on his arm and right leg and his hands appeared to be handcuffed behind him as two officers escorted him. The man was taken in an ambulance.

It was not known if the man was involved in the active shooting reported inside the store.

Ambulances and several law enforcement agencies are currently outside the store.

The KMGH helicopter recorded police driving several people away from the store. SWAT vehicles were also seen moving around and several officers were in tactical positions around the outside of the store.

Police officers were also seen moving around on the roof of the store; the objectives of the roof movements were not clear.

At 4:20 p.m. (6:20 p.m. ET), Boulder Police tweeted, “Please avoid the Table Mesa and Broadway area! This is always a very active scene. Do NOT post tactical information on social media that you want. might see # BoulderShooting. We’ll continue to tweet updates as we have them. If you live nearby, stay indoors for now. “

The supermarket is part of a large shopping center with a two-story shopping center next to it.

Governor Jared Polis tweeted that he was aware of the situation.

“Like my Coloradans comrades, I closely watch the events unfolding at King Soopers in Boulder,” Polis wrote. “My prayers are with our Coloradans comrades in this time of sadness and grief as we learn more about the magnitude of the tragedy.

King Soopers is a supermarket brand of Kroger in the Rocky Mountain area of ​​the United States.
