As Americans prepare for their July 4th celebrations, border patrol officers patrolling the southern border have caught large numbers of criminal illegal immigrants – including gang members and sex offenders – trying to enter in the USA

The border patrol in the Rio Grande Valley area announced this week that it has arrested four gang members and two sex offenders since June 30. A migrant arrested on Friday on Padre Island had already been arrested for rape and sentenced to 10 years of probation. , while other agents picked up members of the 18th Street gang, the Gulf Cartel and MS-13 elsewhere.

A migrant, a Salvadoran national, had previously lived in New York and was arrested for criminal possession and intent to use a weapon, and separately for second degree assault, sentenced to prison in both case. Separately, officers near Brownsville, Texas apprehended a group of migrants including a Mexican who had previously been arrested for sexual assault.

On Monday, officers apprehended a member of the Surenos 18 street gang who the Border Patrol said had a long criminal record, including aggravated homicide and extortion. They also located a Honduran who had been arrested for negligent homicide and sentenced to two years in prison and was subsequently deported.

Officers apprehended a group of 67 migrants on Tuesday, including a 39-year-old Honduran convicted of attempted murder in Chicago.

Meanwhile, agents from the El Centro sector this week arrested two illegal immigrants convicted of sex offenses. The agency said that in fiscal 2021, it had so far arrested or returned 31 illegal immigrants to the area who have been convicted or wanted on charges of sexual offenses.

“We have no operational control, no legal control, no law enforcement control over our border,” Good said in an interview with Fox News.

He also raised the question of how many people were crossing the border patrol.
