Copyright cases, major leaks, and filmmakers posting clarifications are just a few of the headlines that have reached us today. From telling you all about the latest on Ranbir Kapoor’s “Shamshera” to a possible “Stree” prequel, here’s what made headlines today.

Monday on social media began with a flood of photos and videos of celebrities celebrating Father’s Day by sharing some of the best photos with their dearest dad. From Priyanka Chopra sharing a snap of Nick Jonas with Baby MM, to Hazel Keech revealing that she and husband Yuvraj Singh named their son Orion, there was an outpouring of love on the ‘Gram.

Evildoers have leaked Ranbir Kapoor’s first look of ‘Shamshera’ robbing us of all the excitement of seeing the first poster. The makers, who were in no mood to play nice, used the same leaked image to announce the film’s July 22 release date. Guess we’ll have to wait a little longer before we see the trailer also featuring Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor later this week.

After all the uproar over Ranbir Kapoor shown in shoes entering what looked like a temple, director Ayan Mukerji released a clarification saying it was not a temple, but a Durga Puja Pandal. “Brahmāstra is created as a cinematic experience that respects and celebrates Indian culture, traditions and history,” he said while assuring that everything will be understood when the film hits the big screens.

Meanwhile, those who watched the new 4K ‘Brahmastra’ trailer seemed convinced that Deepika Padukone would make her big cameo as the goddess of the sea. Several fans took to social media to bet that the woman in a red saree with blue energy coming out of her hands was none other than DP.

On the movie front, it looks like Shraddha Kapoor will return to give you all the chills when she returns to the screen as “Stree” in an upcoming prequel. After the smash hit of this 2018 film, Dinesh Vijan planned to show the journey of the girl who became “Stree” with Shraddha reprising her role. This prequel is set to air later this year.

All the hype surrounding the release of “Jug Jugg Jeeyo” this Friday seems to have silenced the chatter surrounding the copyright infringement case raging in the courtroom. A Commercial Court in Ranchi has ordered the film to be screened to determine if it is indeed a copy of Vishal Singh’s story titled ‘Punny Rani’. Singh claimed the creators gave him no credit and asked for a reprieve from the release. He also demanded compensation of Rs 1.5 crore.
