Billie Eilish stops London gig to check on fans after starting to battle the heat | Ents & Arts News

Billie Eilish briefly stopped her gig in London after fans began to struggle in the hot temperatures.

The 20-year-old singer interrupted her performance at the O2 Arena on Saturday to check that fans were “everything is fine” as they were crushed to the front of the stage.

Eilish urged fans to “step back” in order to “give everyone space” and asked the O2 security team to hand out water to the public.

“People were fainting and getting kicked out. It’s hot, I know, it’s crowded, it’s hot,” she said.

“Are you a little crushed? If someone looks a little dizzy, just tell someone, okay? Don’t try to save your feelings.”

Eilish already stopped a concert to help a fan in need of medical assistance while performing in the United States in February on her Happier Than Ever tour.

The Bad Guy singer could be heard saying, “I’m waiting for people to be okay until I carry on,” but later denied she was referring to the tragedy during Travis Scott’s performance at the Astroworld music festival.

Ten people died as fans rushed to the stage during Scott’s performance at the two-day festival in Houston, Texas in November.

Eilish’s O2 show is part of a UK concert series and she will also perform at SSE Hydro in Glasgow and Utilita Arena in Birmingham.

On Tuesday she performed TV, an unreleased song with her brother and co-writer Finneas O’Connell at Manchesters AO Arena, which includes a reference to the Johnny Depp Amber v. Heard lawsuit.

It was her first performance in England since the Reading Festival in 2019 and she headlining Glastonbury Festival this year later this month.
