JERSEY CITY, NJ – Americans at a Garden State gas station on Thursday shared their thoughts on President Biden touting economic conditions in the United States during his interview with Jimmy Kimmel.
“I think inflation is going to really hurt the economy going forward,” Tom, from New Jersey, told Fox News. “It doesn’t seem to be stopping, and oil and gas, I don’t see it abating, so it’s going to hurt.”
But Luis, also from New Jersey, said: “I think we’re growing very fast here in the United States…so I would kind of agree with him.”
Biden’s appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday night marked her first network interview in 118 days. Biden promoted the economy’s success, but said inflation was the “bane of our existence.”

Some were unsure of the success of the economy, but felt the daily impact of rising prices.
“I don’t know how good the economy is,” Hemish, from Brooklyn, said. “But I know inflation is very high and everyone is frustrated.”

Inflation hit a 40-year high in 2022, according to the Labor Department.
“Times are really tough right now with rising gas prices, and every item when I go shopping is 20% more expensive after COVID,” New Jersey resident Kathy told Fox. News.

During the spot with the comedian, Biden brushed off former President Trump, teased possible executive orders regarding abortion and said the White House has had major successes it hasn’t communicated well.
Tom said he couldn’t name one major success Biden had scored.
“Neither does Joe,” Tom told Fox News. “He continues on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ – come on, he’s the President of the United States. He’s desperate.”
