Benedict Cumberbatch and Jason Momoa show their support for Ukraine at the 2022 Oscars | English Film News

Attendees of the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday evening marked their presence on the red carpet by showing their support for Ukraine, which has been facing a serious humanitarian crisis since Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a large-scale military operation the low.

Famous Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa was spotted carrying a handkerchief in the colors of the Ukrainian flag – blue and yellow – in his pocket.

Benedict Cumberbatch also expressed his support for the Ukrainians. He sported the colors of the Ukrainian flag, in a pin on his suit jacket, after sharing a poignant message for the country when receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame a few days ago.

“I cannot speak today at this incredible moment in my life, from this extraordinary platform, without acknowledging the evidence of what is happening in Ukraine and showing my support for the Ukrainian people, my support for the Russian people who pits the kleptocracy and idiocy of their leaders against each other to try and stop the progress of this atrocity. But it’s up to all of us to do more than just have thoughts and prayers. We need to take action, we need to go to the websites embassies, we need to see what we can do as citizens of the world, citizens of Europe and people who want a better place and a better outcome for this horrible time for these people with children, with families who are struggling to survive as rockets rain down on their cities,” he said earlier.

Benedict, nominated for the second time, is one of the favorites for the Best Actor Oscar this year. His portrayal of Phil Burbank in The Power of the Dog earned him many rave reviews.
