A BMC official told ETimes, “Akshay is not yet added to the BMC’s COVID-positive patient list as they likely took a home test. Akshay Kumar will need to use the official app to test positive for COVID-19. COVID, after which he will have to go home to quarantine for 7 days, as is standard procedure at the moment.”
Akshay is currently in Wai to start filming his next film with Radhika Madan. They were expected to wrap up filming this month and head to another month-long schedule in Bhor. But since Akshay tested positive, it remains to be seen how that timeline will pan out.
Also, this isn’t the first time Akshay has tested positive for COVID. In April 2021, the ‘Housefull’ actor tweeted, “I want to let everyone know that earlier this morning I tested positive for COVID-19. Following all protocols, I immediately self-isolated . I am under house quarantine and have sought necessary medical attention. I would sincerely ask anyone who has come in contact with me to get tested and take care of themselves. Back in action very soon.”
On the work side, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming period drama “Prithviraj.” The Chandraprakash Dwivedi-directed film also marks the debut of Manushi Chhillar. It is set to hit theaters in June this year.
