A group of armed men robbed a Chanel jewelry store in Paris in broad daylight on Thursday and escaped on two motorbikes.
The police headquarters tweeted that members of a special squad went to the scene after the robbery, which happened around 3 p.m.
The boutique on rue de la Paix, not far from the opera house in the French capital, replaced a Chanel boutique on the chic place Vendôme which was being renovated.
The estimated value of the goods stolen from the store was not immediately known. A video circulating on social media of what appeared to be the heist showed four men dressed in black with covered faces escaping on two motorbikes. Three of them were in the store while one stood guard with what looked like an automatic rifle strapped across him.
