NEW DELHI (Reuters) – India will host a special meeting of ASEAN-India foreign ministers on June 16-17 to mark the country’s 30th anniversary of dialogue relations, the foreign ministry said on Thursday.
Foreign Minister Jaishankar and Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan will co-chair the meeting.
“Foreign ministers of other ASEAN member states and the ASEAN secretary general will attend the meeting. 2022 has been designated as the year of ASEAN-India friendship,” the spokesperson said. of the MEA, Arindam Bagchi.
“The ASEAN meeting is in the ASEAN format. Myanmar is an ASEAN member state. Thus, Myanmar’s participation in this Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers Meeting is in line with the consensus of the ASEAN. ‘ASEAN in this regard,” he added.
