NEW DELHI: PA member Sanjay Singh and former Union minister Prakash Javadekar have come under fire over ‘The Kashmir Files’ film with Singh demanding it be made available on YouTube and shown on Doordarshan. In hitting back, Javadekar challenged the Delhi government to make the film tax-free as the AAP member told parliament that every citizen in the country should watch it.
“Why don’t we set the record straight. There were slogans ‘Azaadi Azaadi’, ‘Afzal tumhare kaatil jinda hai’, ‘Ek Afzal Maroge to har Ghar se Afzal niklega’. Who supported these slogans? ” says Javadekar. He said that people’s anger against the “tukde tukde” gang came out in “The Kashmir Files”. Javdekar added that “those who call themselves anarchists preach patriotism”.
“If the films reflect the truth of society, then they should be encouraged. I demand from the government that the film ‘Kashmir Files’ be free and released on YouTube so that everyone in the country can watch it,” said Singh. “It is important to know what steps have you taken to rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits, share this with the House,” Singh added.
