FIRST ON FOX: Retired Navy Col. Mitchell Swan, the Republican candidate for Georgia’s 10th congressional district, released a video ad on Tuesday opposing President Biden’s “woke” focus on the military amid the invasion. of Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Europe’s biggest ground war since WWII, and where our military is focused: gender dysphoria and revival training,” Swan says in the video, first provided to Fox News Digital. “THIS IS INSANE!”
“Putin is looking at nuclear options while we are evaluating transgender therapy options,” the retired Navy colonel adds. “As a retired colonel who led the Marines overseas, I know this woke indoctrination will destroy our military, and that’s why I oppose transgender people in our ranks.”

He concluded the announcement by pledging to “fight woke politics on all fronts” if he wins the election.
“DOD’s mandatory diversity and inclusion training has become a tool for LGBTQ supporters to normalize sodomy, sinful behavior and transgender lifestyles in our armed forces, while waging a culture war against these Christian family values. traditions that many of the service members were raised on,” Swan said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. “This tears at the moral fabric and cohesion of our military forces.”
“Furthermore, it erodes combat readiness and profane over 200 years of American military culture,” he added. “A strong military is essential to prevent the escalation of situations like Ukraine and Afghanistan. Allowing transgender people to serve sends the message to our adversaries that we are more focused on social experimentation than defending our nation.”

Swan retired as a colonel after 30 years of service in the United States Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserve. He led Marines overseas, helped lead operations in the Pacific and shaped US policy in the Middle East, according to his campaign.

The candidate urged the US military to reverse its pro-transgender identity policy, warning that welcoming people with gender dysphoria into the ranks could weaken military performance and send a message of weakness to opponents of America in crises such as Ukraine and Afghanistan.
In previous comments to Fox News Digital, Swan noted that “serving in the military is not a right,” so the military enforces “strict ‘selective service’ standards.”
“In fact, many people with certain conditions, such as bedwetting and sleepwalking, are disqualified from military service,” he noted. “They are not disqualified because they are bad people, but because these symptoms are seen as mental and emotional issues that are not conducive to combat environments.
