A tense video appeared that appeared to show a Briton driving into a pair of climate protesters after begging them to stop blocking a road because her 11-year-old son “needs to go to school”.
The images were posted Sunday on the Twitter account of Insulate Britain, a group which calls on the government to “isolate leaking British homes” in order to cut emissions and “reduce energy demand”. It starts with a black SUV pulling up in front of protesters sitting on a road in Grays, east London.
“I’m not kidding, my son needs to go to school… move out now!” a woman is heard telling protesters after getting out of the car and grabbing their banner.

“My son is 11 and he has to go to school and I have to get to work,” she continues, as one of the protesters seated says “I understand” and “I’m sorry”.
At one point in the footage, a child appears to be watching from the SUV and gesturing towards the scene unfolding in front of him.
The woman then gets back into the car and begins to drive forward, prompting one of the demonstrators to shout “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!”
The woman and child then exit the vehicle a second time, the woman shouting at the protesters that “my son has to go to school, I don’t care about your problem!”
It was not immediately clear how the incident ended.

Insulate Britain, on its website, states that “the UK has some 29 million homes and it is the oldest and least energy efficient housing stock in Europe. Every year, large amounts of energy precious is wasted to heat and, increasingly, to cool our buildings ”.
It demands that the UK government ‘produce within four months a legally binding national plan to fully fund and take responsibility for the complete low-energy, low-carbon refurbishment, with no outsourced costs, of all homes in existence. Britain by 2030, as part of a just transition to full decarbonization of all parts of society and the economy. ”
