US Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley told Fox & Friends on Thursday that she was standing up to provide “common sense solutions” to the unique problems facing families and youth in Washington state.
WASHINGTON SENATE RACE: LEADER IN GOP VETERANS ‘RIGHTS AT THE DEMOCRATIC CHALLENGE SEN. PATTY MURRAY
TIFFANY SMILEY: I am running in the United States Senate to provide sensible solutions to the unique issues facing Washington State families and our brilliant youth here in the State.
Listen, my opponent is a career politician. It’s been over thirty years and if we’ve seen anything in the last year it’s people struggling. I’m a mom, I’m a nurse, I’m a caregiver, I’m a small business owner, and I talk to people everyday in our great state and they struggle. Career politicians are not the answer to our future.
Sixteen years ago this month, I walked into my husband’s hospital room at Walter Reed Medical Center and told him he would never see again. That day, I stood up against the United States military and told them I would not sign their medical retirement papers.
I have a proven reputation for taking government and winning for the greater good of the people. I took the VA when others said it was impossible and I was wasting my time, but we won. So I have no doubt, in the future, that we can do a great job here in Washington State, and I am ready to be that voice.
