Investigators said they were trying to determine if the shots were related.
MPs have been called to Young’s Asian Massage near Acworth, Ga., Over reports of a shooting, Cherokee County Sheriff’s spokesman Howard J. Baker said.
The deputies who responded found five people with gunshot wounds.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and three were taken to a hospital where one of them died.
The sheriff’s office is looking for a suspect they say was seen on surveillance video at the scene at the time of the shooting.
Baker said investigators did not yet know of a motive.
Acworth is approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
Atlanta Police said they responded to a theft call at the Gold Massage Spa on Piedmont Road in Atlanta.
Officers found three people dead.
At the same time, they responded to the Aroma Therapy spa just across the street, where they found a dead person, police said.
Police said the four victims were female and appeared to be Asian. They did not say whether they were spa employees or customers.
Atlanta police say they are in the early stages of the investigation and have not defined a motive.
